This movie went out on the silver screen last year October (in Japan), and I’m wondering when will the DVD be out. I am in dire need to watch Boku No Hatsukoi Wo Kimi Sasagu (I Give My First Love to You). You hear that? In DIRE.
Errm…that’s a bit too exaggerated really. Hehe. But I do really want to watch this.
Cast:
Inoue Mao as Mayu Taneda
Masaki Okada as Takuma Kakunouchi
Natsuki Harada as Teru Uehara
Yoshihiko Hosoda as Takashi Suzuya
Plot Summary:
This movie is based on a shoujo-manga of the same title.
Takuma, a boy who is told he will die before he’s 20, and Mayu, a girl who is in love with him…
The story begins when they are little kids. Mayu, whose father is a doctor, meets Takuma, who is hospitalized in her father’s workplace. They develop feelings for each other, but Mayu learns of Takuma’s grave illness and that he will die before he turns 20. The distraught children make one promise for an uncertain future.
Time passes, and the girl becomes a young woman, and the boy, a young man. Mayu continues to support and love Takuma. On the other hand, Takuma, who knows his days are numbered, pushes away his feelings for Mayu and distances himself from her. He cannot stand to see her cry or hurt her more than he already has. Then Mayu meets another man who has feelings for her, and Takuma meets a woman who has the same illness, and their feelings for each other begin to waver.
Misunderstandings, unsaid thoughts, the frustrations and chagrin of youth… What will become of their love while the clock keeps ticking away in Takuma’s life?

sounded/looked like a good movie but i need to be in the “in need to cry” mode to watch this or I’ll end up exhausted ^^ *giggle*. yeah, exaggerating as well here. hehehe… as i mentioned, i took some time to recognise Inoue (thinking… this girl look pretty familiar *duh*) and the only guys i can still remember well from hanakimi are Shun, Maki and yours truly Toma *wink-wink* (cant “really say” the same about Shun now do we?? lols~~~~).
btw, side note… if this was out in Oct last year and still not subbed, then we need to wait longer for our beloved Chiaki lah this? *sigh*
(cant “really say” the same about Shun now do we?? lols~~~~) <—- UWAAA!!!!!
You can't recall masaki okada in hanakimi?
oh well, i guess not everyone finds him kakkoi or maybe he was just overshadowed by the presence of shun and toma in the dorama. I find him exceptionally cute
and am looking forward to see more of his movies. He's actually the main character in last spring/fall Jdorama: Otomen. Watched a few episodes of it but didn't follow through till the end cuz i simply didn't like the female protagonist.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the sub of Nodame the movie to be out sooner than later. Reason being? It has many staunch followers out there. So I'm praying that there wud be subbers out there who are eager to get this done soon. Please-please-please!!!!
