I was never good at making reviews and so I’m gonna keep my review short and brute. I love everything about the movie except for its ending. Kimochi warui! I don’t understand why they decided to end it differently from the manga. But that’s just my two-cent worth of opinion.

I certainly love the pairing between Okada Masaki and Inoue Maou that I wish they were really together off-screen. Definitely and eye-candy match, them both. MatsuJun fans are not gonna like this, but I’m definitely pro Okada-Inoue as compared to MatsuJun-Inoue couple.

It goes without saying that my favorite scenes from the movie would be everything of Takuma and Mayu together i.e. from the time they were just kids, how Takuma stood up for Mayu when she played got bullied in school, them taking the bus together, the ride together in the packed-train, the kissing scenes, and even the quarrel scenes. The chemistry between Takuma and Mayu is so believable, especially the kissed that lead to their consummation of their relationship. Not your ordinary peck on the lips kind of kiss.

Ooh, I must add (and not as a betrayal here for Takuma) that I like it how Takashi (Takuma’s love rival) calls Mayu ‘Hime’.

Another thing I wanna point out is that I’m really getting tired with the (sorry but I’m gonna use this word) –> ‘typical’ plot of a teenager’s first love that ends-up dying. Blah! Oopsy, I just leaked a big spoiler here, gomen-ne minna san. For the staunch manga fans of Boku no Hatsugoi, you may wanna stick to just reading the manga. Like I said in the beginning, they should have just stayed with the original manga ending.

If it weren’t for Okada and Inoue, I think I would have just skipped this movie altogether. But after having said that, it wasn’t such a big disappointment as I found myself after watching Tajomaru, starring Shun Oguri. For the benefit of those who don’t know, Okada and Oguri did a dorama together in HanaKimi. Yup, Okada played Sekime and his character was really overlooked by most because Ikuta Toma did such a brilliant job as Nakatsu!  N’way back to the story in hand, the latter movie was such a big disappointment that I would definitely ask non Oguri Shun’s fan to skip it altogether for fear that they will wonder what’s with the hype of Oguri as one of the rising actors in Japan nowadays.

Enough of Shun, I really wanna talk about Masaki Okada. I got hooked to him since HanaKimi really. After HanaKimi, he did a few more doramas and finally had his starring role in a dorama entitled Otomen. I didn’t follow this though – so much for a fan huh? Well, mainly because I’m more of a fan for his movies. Yup, he has a few movies under his belt already. Don’t just take my word for it, but he’s a talented actor. Among my favorite of his movies are Juryoku Pierrot and Harufuwei.

I’m happy to find out that for 2010, he already have two movies that I will be on the look-out for, and that will be  1) Raiou and 2) Matataki. I’m not quite liking the plot for the latter, but I shall keep my thoughts to myself until I’ve seen the movie.

One more last thing, as much as I like Okada Masaki’s curly manes, there are times when he’ s just really having a terrible bad hair day – literally speaking here! I hate it when that happens. But his voice could never go wrong for me. I simply love to hear him doing narration! XD

This is done superbly! With each members presenting the different version of “I’m A Loner”, and featuring their personal voice distinctively. Proof to show they really have the talent! A ‘WOW-er!” indeed.

Ya, of course we’ve heard of better cover than this, but I’m giving them this extra credit because I don’t get to see a lot of Korean (boy) band or Japanese for that matter who can sing a complete English song without diction problems. So they are one of those exceptional ones

The members comprises:-

Went to Mabul Island sometime in 2008 (but only manage to post it now). We stayed in Mabul-Sipadan Resort and the place was simply beautiful. The staffs really made our stay pleasant and food was really good! Simple, but yummy. I shan’t talk so much about what Mabul is, but if you love diving and snorkeling, this is a must visit place.

Gotta admit, what got my attention first was how CN Blue looks  like The Beatles in their gray suits!! I SUPER LIKE!! (I’m a big fan of The Beatles, so me saying this, is a compliment!). I also love the idea of the rotating stage and the big individual poster behind! And of course, what pulled me in as a fan is the fact that their song “I’m a Loner” is great music to my ears! This performance is what I would call top notch!

Again, thanks to Rina for this!! I would have never known them if it weren’t for her. Ya, of course I got my first sight of Jung Yong Hwa (band leader) from the big hit Korean drama “You’re Beautiful” (great entertaining drama by the way!). Even then I already thought that he is a sight and is a talented singer. But after this video, after listening to their music, Redge is turned into a FAN! Yipeee!!! I was already listening to Korean music before this, but was never a real fan to any band. This, would be my first. Yaayy!!!

So as a new turned fan, Redge went browsing thru the net to find more facts about CN Blue, and got impressed even further with what she found out. Of course whatever written are meant to make non-fans into fans, subtle fan into loyal fans or rather – manic fans, and that’s what exactly happened to Redge – she got pulled in and she doesn’t mind at all. *Tehee*

So n’way, found out that CN Blue is an indie band and they are running under the same management with F.T Island. So some say that their songs kinda sound the same. Well, this only means that I shud check-out F.T Island as well . Ooh, for the benefit of those who doesn’t know, one member from F.T Island – Lee Hong Ki was also in the same Korean drama I mentioned above. Hong Ki and Yong Hwa played as band members in the drama.

Back to CN Blue,  I love the fact that they released an English album called Discography. I’ve only heard the preview, and I must say, I am quite impressed! Good English diction. I’m thinking to get my hands on this album!I could talk more about them, but what I’ll say will only be a mirror to what others have already said. Yup…*tehee*. I can’t help it…I got bored with the 3 colounm red/black theme already. Hhmmm…lemme think…I guess this is the 5th time I changed my blog theme since I started in WP (2 years ago).  And following suit to this change is another BIG change –> I’m changing job! Yaaayyy!!!

*Giggles* Redge is quitting her current job and jumping head first into the open sea! With no life saver. If you were to ask her why? She’ll merely say “Because I got bored with it (job)…” *Giggles*

Plot Summary:

This movie is based on a shoujo-manga of the same title.

Takuma, a boy who is told he will die before he’s 20, and Mayu, a girl who is in love with him…

The story begins when they are little kids. Mayu, whose father is a doctor, meets Takuma, who is hospitalized in her father’s workplace. They develop feelings for each other, but Mayu learns of Takuma’s grave illness and that he will die before he turns 20. The distraught children make one promise for an uncertain future.

Time passes, and the girl becomes a young woman, and the boy, a young man. Mayu continues to support and love Takuma. On the other hand, Takuma, who knows his days are numbered, pushes away his feelings for Mayu and distances himself from her. He cannot stand to see her cry or hurt her more than he already has. Then Mayu meets another man who has feelings for her, and Takuma meets a woman who has the same illness, and their feelings for each other begin to waver.

Misunderstandings, unsaid thoughts, the frustrations and chagrin of youth… What will become of their love while the clock keeps ticking away in Takuma’s life?
